1 既有入其安息之许、故宜戒惧、免尔或有不及之者、

2 盖福音宣于我侪、如于彼然、但所闻无益于彼、因闻之者无信以融洽之也、

3 夫我侪之信者、得入安息、如上帝所言、我怒而誓曰、彼必不入我安息、然其工自创世时已毕矣、

4 盖论第七日有云、上帝于第七日、毕其诸工而安息、

5 于此又云、彼必不入我安息、

6 既有宜入之人、而先闻福音者、因不顺、故不入、

7 历年既多、于大卫书复定一日、如上所云、尔曹今日若闻其言、勿刚愎乃心、

8 傥约书亚已以安息赐之、则后必不复言他日矣、

9 由是观之、尚遗一安息、为上帝之民也、

10 盖入其安息者、亦以毕其工而安息、如上帝然、

11 故我侪宜黾勉以入此安息、免有效其不顺之状而倾覆者、

12 盖上帝之道、活泼灵通、利于两刃之剑、能剖刺魂与灵、节与髓、亦立辨人之心思意志也、

13 无物不显于其前、万有悉呈露于鞫我者之目也、○

14 我侪既有大祭司上帝子耶稣、经行诸天、则宜固守所承奉者、

15 盖我之大祭司、非不能体恤我荏弱、彼乃凡事见试、与我无异、惟无罪耳、

16 故当毅然近于恩座、以得矜恤、并承随时之恩佑焉、
