1 故我不能复忍、愿独留于雅典、

2 遣我兄弟提摩太、于基督福音为上帝役者、以坚尔曹、为尔之信而慰尔、

3 免有人为诸苦所摇、盖尔自知分定于此也、

4 我偕尔时、豫告我侪将受难、后果如是、尔所知也、

5 缘此、我不能复忍、遣人欲知尔信、恐为试者所惑、而我徒劳、

6 今提摩太自尔返、报我嘉音、言尔之信与爱、且常缅怀我、切愿见我、如我于尔然、

7 兄弟乎、故我于诸颠沛患难中、因尔之信而受慰、

8 尔若坚立主中、我则生矣、

9 我在上帝前、为尔所乐之乐、将何以答谢上帝乎、

10 昼夜切求、愿见尔面、以补尔信之不逮、○

11 愿我父上帝、与我主耶稣、导我以坦途就尔、

12 又愿主俾尔之相爱、益而充之、且及于众、如我于尔然、

13 致坚尔心、圣而无间、在我父上帝前、于我主耶稣偕其诸圣者而临之时焉、
