1 大利乌王二年六月朔、耶和华借先知哈该、谕撒拉铁子犹大方伯所罗巴伯、及约撒答子大祭司约书亚曰、

2 万军之耶和华曰、斯民云、建耶和华之室、其时未至、

3 耶和华则借先知哈该谕曰、

4 斯室荒凉、尔居板盖之室、于斯时宜乎、

5 故万军之耶和华云、尔其自思所为、

6 尔播多而获少、食不得饱、饮不得足、衣不得暖、佣获其值、盛于敝囊、

7 万军之耶和华云、尔其自思所为、

8 登山取木、以建斯室、我则悦之而获荣、耶和华言之矣、

9 尔望多而得少、携之而归、我则嘘之、万军之耶和华曰、此何故耶、因我室荒凉、尔各亟于己室也、

10 以尔之故、天靳其露、地靳其果、

11 我命旱干临于斯土山冈、谷酒与油、暨地所产、其人与畜、爰及尔手劳而得者、○

12 撒拉铁子所罗巴伯、约撒答子大祭司约书亚、与诸遗民、遂遵其上帝耶和华之命、及先知哈该奉其上帝耶和华遣、所传之言、民众乃寅畏耶和华、

13 耶和华之使者哈该、奉耶和华之命告民曰、耶和华云、我偕尔矣、

14 耶和华感撒拉铁子犹大方伯所罗巴伯、与约撒答子大祭司约书亚、及诸遗民之心、遂咸至、兴工于其上帝万军耶和华之室、
