1 非利士人夺上帝之匮、自以便以谢舁至亚实突、

2 置于大衮庙、在大衮侧、

3 翌晨、亚实突人夙兴、见大衮仆、伏于地、在耶和华匮前、遂取而置之于其所、

4 次日夙兴、见大衮仆、伏于地、在耶和华匮前、其首与手、并断于阈、惟遗残体而已、

5 故在亚实突、大衮祭司、及入大衮庙者、不履其阈、至于今日、○

6 耶和华之手、加重祸于亚实突人、击之以痔、而翦灭之、至于四境、

7 亚实突人见此、则曰、以色列上帝之匮、不可留此、盖其手加烈祸于我、及我神大衮、

8 遂遣人集非利士牧伯曰、以色列上帝之匮、何以处之、佥曰、当运至迦特、乃运于彼、

9 运至之后、耶和华之手击其邑、使大扰乱、其人无论尊卑、悉被击、咸生痔、

10 乃运上帝匮至以革伦、既至、以革伦人呼曰、彼舁以色列上帝之匮至此、欲杀我、及我民、

11 上帝之手、加以重祸、举邑扰乱、多有死者、遂遣人集非利士牧伯曰、其遣以色列上帝之匮、归于故土、免杀我、及我民、

12 未死之人具生痔、举邑哀号、声闻于天、
